Re: Which Book Should I Read?

Welcome Fedos! You should introduce yourself properly in the Introductions thread! If you want, that is.

I think everyone should read The Eye of the World it's really great. I lost enthusiasm after the third book, however.

Re: Which Book Should I Read?

I'm currently in the middle of a re-read of the whole series. I'm on Path of Daggers now (book 8) and still loving every single moment of it.

It becomes a different type of story part way through the series, but I still love the latter half. I enjoy spending time in the fantasy worlds I read about, and becoming totally immersed in the setting. Wheel of Time does that for me more than any other series I've read. Absolutely love it....

Re: Which Book Should I Read?

I seem to be going away from what most people say here but being honest i loved every book, and as for the second half I thought was amazing!!
I loved that the stories take time to pan out and that they are not rushed, the chase scene takes time to pan out because of the circumstances.
It is a great read for anyone into fantasy and if you ask i think it is some of best books ever written.

Re: Which Book Should I Read?

I recently started reading Leigh Butler's reread blog over at Tor.com and it got me started on my 4th or 5th reread of the whole series. Still love it. Jordan's world still seems to appeal to me more than any other fantasy series. Go figure.

Re: Which Book Should I Read?

There are a couple of threads here you might want to peruse about this long series. In my openion 1 through 6 are good and have the promise found in a master work. Volumes 7 through 11 should have been finished by Jordan and then turned over to a good editor as the story content in them could be contained in one good volume. Others will or course disagree with this... you'll just have to decide for yourself. As for the earlier post that said the "final volume 12" would be out soon, that turns out to have been oremature. Sanderson (the aurthor chosen to finish the series) says he will need 3 volumes to finish it.

And the next book will be released October 27 in the States.
