Lightbulb Synopsis Challenge....

Teresa posted her general formula for writing a synopsis here:

Character (or characters) + something descriptive of who they are + immediate challenge faced or undertaken + ultimate goal semicolon turning point + consequence

Following on from her synopsis of Lord of the Rings:

Frodo the Hobbit and a band of adventurers representing the free peoples of Middle Earth set out on a perilous quest to destroy the One Ring of Power; when members of the company are separated, each must fight the forces of the Dark Lord Sauron in his own way.

try to do one for your own favourite book, using about 50 words, and without giving away too much to people that haven't read it...

Re: Synopsis Challenge....

Hercules, My Shipmate

Jason – with one shoe and a boat from Argos -- takes trustafarians on booze cruise; has fantastic time, despite harping locals, losing crew to spirits, fleecing a distant monarch (whose son gets cut up about it), and letting romantic magic turn a one-night stand into real commitment; he returns to confront his trustee.

(I hope this doesn't give too much away. )
