Re: Son of 6 word story -- 6 (or less) lines of 6 words each

What fruit on yonder window sill?
peaches for the boy next door,
or apples for the snow maid?
don't tarry long before you choose
lest the ripeness fades to black

Books on shelves, ceiling to floor,
Lining the walls, door to door.
Redolent with that "old book" smell,
Filled with many stories to tell.
A tiny bookshop, full of heart.
I enter: Where do I start?

Jormungand, you big, fat, ugly snake!
Let go, or I'll tell Thor!

Vast beyond comprehension, the great serpent,
his supple, shining body holds all
the world in one mighty coil.

Loki, father to wolf and serpent,
What irony you should know agony
Under a great snake’s burning venom
Each time that your faithful Sigyn,
Turns away to empty her bowl.

Loki, dark trickster, fair Baldr's bane,
Master of magic and knowledge arcane;
Dressed-up Thunder in fair maiden's form,
Bewildered Thrymr and reclaimed the Storm.

O, mighty Mjollnir, pillar of light,
Jormungand's nemesis at the last fight!

(That's so beautiful, Sephiroth, I won't attempt to match it. Instead, I'll offer a bit of doggerel.)

Sif's bright locks are shorn away
The purest gold and shining too
Now she bewails her beauty's loss
'Til Thor comes home with super-glue.

Those are beautiful! I'll have another go, but I won't be able to match those.

The day comes at long last,
When lost souls are finally rewarded.
Forgiven and freed, they venture onwards
To find what rest they can.

The land of the gods awaits
Beyond the shining rainbow bridge, Bifrost.
Heimdall, its keeper, bars the way
To all but the worthy ones.

Billowing embers out of the South,
Fire Giant hordes from scorching Múspell;
Vehement Surt in his revengeful wrath,
Ender of Asgard, Midgard and Hel.

Bifrost is broken, Aesir all gone;
Two humans shelter in Yggdrasil's form.

The twilight of the gods approaches.
Will they struggle to prevent fate?
As we likely would, they would.

In a sky of cobalt blue
Stars are weaving a crystal net
To catch and hold the moon.

Re: Son of 6 word story -- 6 (or less) lines of 6 words each

Fragile and frail, like gossamer threads,
Vivid illusions of many different worlds.
Entertaining me, enthralling me, frightening me.
My body sleeps, my mind soars.
They vanish with the dawn light.
Though dreams fade, they come again.

Thrumming on the weave of memory,
The web mother leaves her eggs.
They are sacs of the past,
Born with hope of the future.
Like dreams, they sit colourfully bunched.
Eyes open, with luck they lurk.

Golden light bathes with gentle glow
Dew drops glisten on golden leaves
sparkling like luminous gems..delicately balanced
trembling at any mere earthly movement
Light changes to bright, taking dewdrops
till Morning brings it's gold again.
