Re: Son of 6 word story -- 6 (or less) lines of 6 words each

Even though all is impossibly dark
I can see a single spark.
Whenever I think I cannot cope
I remember the spark, namely hope.
When it seems all's torn apart.
Keep the spark inside your heart.

Maleficent angel, flitting in the dark,
t'was you the one who stilled
October, stripping the tree to the bark,
wishing the life that sparkled, killed.

I place one foot forward again
Setting out to who knows where.
To lands untried by mortal men,
To new lands, foul or fair.
What lies beyond the horizon, then?
I'll know it once I'm there.

The much longer forebear (no pun intended) of the following text was destined for another thread in Workshop; it turned out to be perfectly unsuitable. (You will guess the thread, I'm sure.)

'You're use of irony is special.'
Jeff beamed: this agent knew comedy.
'It is? You really think so?'
'There's no doubt,' said the agent.
'The title describes your book exactly.
'"Hook Line and Stinker": Title. Content.'

Inexplicably drawn to the burning flame,
We rush headlong into our futures.
Heedless of the danger, we go.
What will happen next? Who knows?

Morning Star, how brightly you shine.
They say that you have fallen,
but you are still ever present.
Shining your light to bring enlightenment.
So shine your bright burning light
and deliver us from our ignorance

Fruit for the boy next door,
Carpe diem, he chooses a peach!
A perfect peach: sweet and succulent;
Ripe, fresh, fragrant; beautiful to behold!

Nervous, on the verge of scared,
She waits to see what's next.
Hunkering down in a dark corner,
Looking for the one chance left
To get the information she needs.
The lonely life of a spy.

Girt in enamelled and polished steel.
Armed with sword and burnished shield.
Generous in thought and in deed.
Riding upon a noble white steed.
The very image of lost chivalry,
Or the very image of stereotyping?

October days are all but done
Now we ready ink and pen
To praise November's frigid charms.

Brittle icy beauty, frost framed face.
White skin, cool to the touch.
At home in the coolest weather
And mistress of the snowy elements,
The Cold Lady of legend, Oyuki.

I watch in amazement and suspense
My small grandsons learning to walk
Each tiny tentative step a victory
Each fall a lesson in disappointment
And gaining courage to try again
Then -- triumphant progress across the room!
