Hello

I just registered on these forums because i have just finished Reading Imperial Traitor today. After receiving it a week ago (i used to finish the books in at least 2 days, but i haven't had time recently). I started reading the Darkweaver series about a year ago (or something like that) in a signing event in a WHSmith in Brent Cross, where i met him and had a little chat (after being approached by him being asked about books, taking a few hours to realize that i was being spoken to! ). Anyway, i bought the first two books signed, out of curiosity, and loved them! Sadly Mark wasn't there the next day, but i bought the next two in the series (the only ones left, but they were signed already ). I bought the next in the series when i could, until Imperial Spy just came out, and i had to wait untill Imperial Assassin came out, and eventually Imperial Traitor. These books have probably been the best ones i have read in a long time, if not ever. I am also writing my own Novel, but its nothing that i expect to be published or anything like that, its more just for my own entertainment :P.

But nobody cares about that! We care about the books (or at least I do)

I loved how the Imperial Series were just as Epic as the Darkweaver series, while having less books. Its much more realistic and dark than the Darkweaver, but the Darkweaver had an influence on the Imperial Series (or at least at the end), I wonder if the Imperial series will have an effect on the Dragon Oracle books. In fact i know nothing of the Dragon Oracle series, apart from the name, and its a book :P I need to read up on this. To finish up, good luck on the books Mark, they are incredible!

Re: Hello

Welcome Nazar.
Dragon Oracle is a very different series to the past two mark has written, and im 99% certain it has nothing to do with them either.
And as i am sure others will say, we do care about your writing and maybe you could post in other parts of the forum with it!

Re: Hello

Hi, Nazar, and welcome to Chronicles. Sorry, I've been offline for the last week with terrible computer problems, so I've only just managed to start playing catch up with correspondence.

It's great to hear that you've enjoyed all the books so much. Matt is quite right, the new dragon books will be totally fresh. I wanted a break from the world of Darkweaver for a while. I've learned a huge amount by writing the books to date, and hope that my writing will continue to improve. My new editor has certainly shaken me up with some of her observations on the new series! I've worked very hard to make this new world even more enjoyable than the last, so I feel certain that I will gain a lot of new fans with it.

The titles have been juggled so many times that I'm no longer sure whether I'm coming or going with them. I think we've settled on the series title as The Dragon Orb series. The titles are now likely to be (though still only in semi-wet cement):

Dragon Orb - Firestorm
Dragon Orb - Shadow
Dragon Orb - Longfang
Dragon Orb - Aurora

Hope you carry on reading, and do join in with some of the discussions here. They're not a bad bunch really.

Re: Hello

Thanks for the information Matt and Mark

And as for my story/novel/thing, i might post it somewhere in the forums if i ever finish it, or i deem it good enough

And the Dragon Orb books sounds like each one is named after a Dragon? Maybe the main character is going after a dragon in each book? to uhm... fill a dragon orb with...dragon magic by taking something from each dragon to save some kind of cataclysmic event of some sorts? *imagination wonders off*

Re: Hello

Like pokemon with dragons! they seal a dragon in an airtight orb and somehow expect it to survive and even fight for them when released.
Like a glorified version of dog fighting.
