Re: 500 years later... Everything Calis did was in top secret: i don't think the story about the lifestone will leak out to the farmers anytime soon. Arutha conDoin already has evidence that he is a legend. When Arutha, son of James, got killed in SOABC, Dash says: 'only one Arutha of Krondor will be remembered in history'. Isn't this proof? Or maybe not knowing me! ![]()

Re: 500 years later... He did, He died bravely, the best way in some way yet not always glorious. Arutha was something of a political/diplomatic genius as I understand it, but that is not what legends are made of, especially in fantasy.

Re: 500 years later... And yet there is another man who might be remembered as a legend, even tho he didn't fight and die gloriously in battle. On this planet we have men like Rockefeller and Gates. On Midkemia they have... Roo Avery. ![]()

Re: 500 years later... Roo Avery, with his genius mind about business. Although, i must say, he got most of wealth purely by luck. Not many people murder their best friends half brothers and get rich from it. Well, leading from it anyway. A reincarnation of Ruthia perhaps? Maybe not... ![]()

Re: 500 years later... Gardan certainly should be remembered, but I doubt that 500 yrs later he would be. History has a nasty habit of forgetting 'sidekicks' and attributing all the glory to the top dog. For example, who remembers Churchill's or Roosevelt's chief advisors? The info is there if you want to look for it, but it won't be on the tip of everyone's tongue like those two names, and that's only been 50 yrs or so. And if humanity survives another 450 yrs (unlikely) even they may have been forgotten.

Re: 500 years later... Erik von Darkmoor ![]() From bastard son to murderer to soldier to lieutenant to knight captain to knight marshal to duke of krondor (temporarily). Also, he is the longest surviving 'true' mortal in book age (not age in years) starting from Shadow of a Dark Queen and still hasn't died yet which means he HAD to have done some very important things for the Kingdom in between the books.
