Want critique but need help with font

I have tried desperatly to change my font size from the one I work in (12) to the size specified for the critique thread with no luck. I use MS word processor on both this computer and my laptop and the lowest size it goes to is 8, I've even tried using word pad and get the same results. Is there a way to fix this?

Re: Want critique but need help with font

Hit the CTRL key and the A key together.
This will select the entire text.
Then, either

-type the size of the font in the permanent window on the right, under the blue bar where the name of the file is,

or

- in the format menu, click on "Font" and, in the window that opens, type the right size.

By typing into the font size window, you can even use half points (e.g. 11.5). Not that I'd recommend it, though.

Ok, I tried both suggestions, using a 3 font but it came out so small I couldn't even read it, is that normal?

Yes, if you're talking about 3 point text, in MS Word; it's very small: 24 lines to an inch (point sizes represent the height of a font in one seventy-seconds of an inch).

But 3 font here in chronicles is large; it's not a point size.

Re: Want critique but need help with font

A detail: when the font is too small on the screen, use the zoom window to magnify the view.

But the formatting guide in the Critique section refers to the points used here, when you post. I suggest you use your original Times 12, copy and past it here in the post window. Sometimes, it becomes size 2 (you can verify this by hitting the "preview" button. In this case, CTRL + A = selection, and then choose 3 in the size menu.
