Hi,

I'm tying to track down an old UK Science Fiction Book Club novel but I don't know the title or author.

The story is about a conflict between humans and an alien race that lives in the 'ether ?' in space. The conflict arises because the human butterfly space ships create a field that destroys the aleins unbeknown to the humans. The aliens resort the hurling ever bigger bombs at earth.

This would have been a pre 1975 book and could possibly have been a short story.

Can anyone help ?

Sounds like a Kevin Anderson novel, and part of a recent series.

This one definitely rings a bell, but I can't think of which book it is. Some thing by Bob Shaw?
