| Brian G. Turner | New anti-spam script Just to let you know I've just installed a new anti-spam script, that will refuse to allow a post that includes a link or a linked image in the post. Hopefully this will make everyone's life a lot easier: - staff, because they won't have to go through moderated posts to approve or disapprove them (and the list can get quite long) - members, because their posts won't inexplicably disappear for moderation. The change also means new members cannot send or receive PM's until they have more than 15 posts. Also, new members cannot post links until they have 15 posts either. I'll test this over the following 2 weeks to see what kind of reaction and impact it has - I'm hoping it'll be positive, and an improvement on the previous system, but do feel free to leave feedback. |

| Re: New anti-spam script That explains something. I just tried to post a source for some health statistics I used in a forum discussion and the post didn't appear. I rewrote, without the url, and the post appeared. If it decreases spam, people can do without the references. |
