The Glossary

I was reading the prologue of TEotW for thw first time and I noticed a lot of terms i didn't understand. I know there's a glossary in the back of it, but does he ever explain what they mean in the prose? It just gets a little annoying having to flick back and forth.

Re: The Glossary

He explains most of them, I believe. The "Ring of Tamyrlin" the "Nine Rods of Dominion" and the "Gates of Paaran Disen" may be terms that aren't really explained in very much depth, but they aren't very crucial to the story.

"Shai'tan" "Saidin" "True Source" "The Shadow's Counter Stroke" "The Breaking of the World" and other terms will be considered in the rest of the book.

Re: The Glossary

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Just keep reading chances are that you'll get it soon, and if you're still lost later, then get worried.

Agreed. I was a little baffled by it at first, myself.

Re: The Glossary

The prologue is out of time with the rest of the book so the terminology in it isn't that important, once you have a few of the books read the prologue makes more sense.

In the rest of the book most things are explained in the prose, I don't think I ever needed to look up the glossary.

Re: The Glossary

Due to my sporadic reading habits, I appreciate the glossary. Mostly I need it to keep track of the characters, rather than the terms.
