Doh, completely forgot Stardock!
Never really saw what was quite so special about Crydee though. I don't really have a feeling for it in anyway.

Re: Favourite Place In Midkemia

Suppose its what books you read first really. Having read the Serpentwar first, i love Krondor and think that is very special. The riftwar came later so Crydee isn't as special to me. Though it still is a lovely place

Re: Favourite Place In Midkemia

Yeah I read Serpent war first as well but krondors not my favourite place either! I'm not a big cities person although Rillanon sounds kind-of fairy tale almost.

Re: Favourite Place In Midkemia

Being a pagan witch myself as well as a lifetime lover of forests and streams, etc, I'd have to say Elvandar. Second choice would be Crydee living as Kulgan or Martin did, before they were thrust into the thick of things.

Re: Favourite Place In Midkemia

I quite liked Lands End in Jimmy the Hand. It seemed peaceful and full of rich people, which isn't necessarily a good thing. Jimmy seemed to like it too

Pointer's Head - I don't believe it has ever been mentioned but it's so out of the way.

The other advantage about places you know nothing about is that you can imagine what ever you want about it, as nothing as ever been stated before

Re: Favourite Place In Midkemia

What I'd like to find are some maps of Midkemia that show ALL of the towns and cities mentioned in the stories. I was recently re-reading the Kronder riftwar legacy series and there are a lot of towns mentioned that don't show up on the maps.

The Midkemian Gazetteer

Here you go Kulgan. I found this a while back whilst trying to find out where about Armengar was. It has most of the places on, plus descriptions and so forth. Enjoy!

Re: Favourite Place In Midkemia

Thank you muchly, Vencar. I once had full maps of Trialgia, Kelewan, etc, but lost them in a crash. Even the ones I had didn't show all the little towns and cities mentioned in the books. The map on the Gazeteer seems impossible to download tho. all I get when I try are various 'fragments' of the map, but not the whole. Any ideas?

Re: Favourite Place In Midkemia

Sorry Kulgan, they seem to be so big they download in small bits. I've got some other maps though.
