Somebody started this idea on another forum (I heard of it on Byluph, with a link to another forum I use. There was a thread about it, with a link to the original forum which I have given the link for above)

Let's make this as big as Talk Like A Pirate Day (which is tomorrow, by the way)

Spread the news - 8th December is Pretend To Be A Time Traveller Day!

Sounds like a riot. Not sure about dressing up and not telling anyone though, I think it could be funnier to 'come clean' and confess to some people that you're a time traveller. Dystopian Future sounds great, but I have nothing to suffice in costume so I'll have to get it all from scratch. If I was gonna be doing the 'come clean' approach I'd probably do something to the effect of "I was trying to go back in time because I was doing a history assignment (and I'm rich - inconceivably rich) and the time machine broke and I've been here for a year or so trying to fix the damn chrono-oscillator. " I can just feel the bruising people are gonna give me when I tell them how unbelievably gullible they've been =D

Now there's a short story concept for you. A time traveller travels back in time to warn us all about a looming catastrophe. Unfortunately he lands here on Pretend to be a Time Traveller Day, and everyone ignores his warning.
