Re: Perils of the Chatroom... "To be honest I still find it hard to believe that the person, Sweetie, who wrote such wonderful things to me on the internet, is actually the same woman I married and who has not said a nice word to me for years." Brilliant!

Re: Perils of the Chatroom... I must be weird. That story just makes me sad. Seems to me they were perfect for each other - two computer nerds who can only get it on on-line. They were meant for each other on so many levels.

Re: Perils of the Chatroom... Escape (The Pina Colada Song) (Rupert Holmes) I was tired of my lady, we'd been together too long. Like a worn-out recording, of a favorite song. So while she lay there sleeping, I read the paper in bed. And in the personals column, there was this letter I read: "If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain. If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain. If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape. I'm the lady you've looked for, write to me, and escape." I didn't think about my lady, I know that sounds kind of mean. But me and my old lady, had fallen into the same old dull routine. So I wrote to the paper, took out a personal ad. And though I'm nobody's poet, I thought it wasn't half-bad. "Yes, I like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain. I'm not much into health food, I am into champagne. I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon, and cut through all this red tape. At a bar called O'Malley's, where we'll plan our escape." So I waited with high hopes, then she walked in the place. I knew her smile in an instant, I knew the curve of her face. It was my own lovely lady, and she said, "Oh, it's you." And we laughed for a moment, and I said, "I never knew".. "That you liked Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain. And the feel of the ocean, and the taste of champagne. If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape. You're the love that I've looked for, come with me, and escape." "If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain. If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain. If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape. You're the love that I've looked for, come with me, and escape."

Re: Perils of the Chatroom... What a sad story. Always the old story you can tell a stranger all your intimate secrets but the person you should be talking to is the very one you don't talk to. One would think that they would have realised that maybe they were meant for each other. I don't think the wife should have felt betrayed, I mean its a case of "the pot calling the kettle black" Also I love this bit from the husband: Adnan said: "I was so happy to have found a woman who finally understood me. Then it turned out that I hadn't found anyone new at all. I underline the new because its obvious what he was looking for was someone completely different from the woman he knew as his wife. Bet they both check next time they get online and start chatting with strangers.

Re: Perils of the Chatroom... I think they should've talked it through. There's obviously some attraction there if they fell for each other twice. And I love that song, Harps! I'd never heard of it before today, and now I love it!
