New book idea, need feedback

Ok, Im not sure if this is fantasy or sci fi, but it is definately outside the normal realm. I kinda mashed together a twilight zone episode, Logans Run, and the Sixth Sense to get this idea.

Ok, a woman in her twenties gets struck by a car and killed. She ends up in a kind of afterlife amd learns that the dead are given an option in death. Live out an eternity in the land of the dead. Or live out a unknown amount of time on earth, living in a sort of covert lifestyle. She chooses the latter. So she lives in secret, in a different country than where she lived when she was alive. When her time comes up and she has to return to the land of the dead, she refuses and tries to evade capture from a kind of police force that enforces the rules of the dead. Further problems arise when she begins contacting her living relatives, seeking help and guidance.

Not sure if its any good or if its been done before, so help me out here. It was kind of a spur of the moment idea, so if Its been done, dont freak out.

Does her choice grant her any powers?

Complications with her living relatives, ex partners etc?

Go with the idea it is interesting so explore it. At the moment you have an idea, find the character and her response, why did she choose to be alive again.

Spur of the moment ideas are how most idea start, now work on it and let it a spur itself.

I really like this idea. It strikes me as more sci-fiy then fantasy, but it dosen't really have any of the sci-fi hall marks.
Have you ever seen the show Dead Like Me? It's kinda about the same thing.
How secret is her life? Does she need to eat and get a normal job, or is her life more of an observer? Does she build up new relationships with people, or is her old life overshadowing everything? Are there other people who are dead and liveing out a second life like her? Did he leave behind a lover?
I really want to see you write this.

I like this idea, I think it sounds good. As long as the character was interesting and there were enough obstacles in the plot I would read it. Keep going with your idea!
