Jules Verne's "Lighthouse at the End of the World"

While I'm not sure the book itself fits into the sff categories, certainly the author is well known for such. At any rate, this appears to be the first English translation of this novel by Jules Verne -- thought some of you might be interested:

Interesting.
I haven't read the French original novel.
I didn't know that Verne was the most translated author in the world either.

Did you have a look at it already, j.d.?

There is still some debate as to whether this was written by Jules himself or his son, Michael. This has been on my "to read" list for years.

Ah, thank you... I'm not at all knowledgeable on Verne, so this is entirely new information to me; much appreciated. Can you give any further information about it?

Here's the wikipedia article: The Lighthouse at the End of the World - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just found out there was a 1971 movie adaptation starring Kirk Douglas and Yul Brynner... interesting.
