Annals of the Western Shore

Has anyone else been reading this new YA series by Ursula LeGuin?

I read the first book, Gifts, a while back, and liked it -- not so much as the first three Earthsea books, but still quite a bit.

Now I've just finished reading Voices, which is, loosely speaking, the sequel (years later, some of the same characters, different protagonist) and I like it even better.

In fact, I think it may become another classic.

Does anyone know if there are going to be more books in this series, or is it only meant to be the two?

Re: Annals of the Western Shore

I think Powers, the third book, has been published, or at least will be soon.

And, yes, I really loved Gifts, though I'd say I loved it even more than the Earthsea books. Annals of the Western Shore feels like the sum of everything that's good in UKL's books. She couldn't have written these books until now, when she has learned all that she has learned through writing her previous books.

Oh gosh, then they're coming out in fairly swift succession.

Yes, I just checked. Powers just came out on Friday, at least in the US.

Now I have to decide whether I'm eager enough to buy it in hardcover.
