Personally I'd rather have both, if only for posterity

I'm a fan of originals, though I'm always prepared to give revamps a go. Sometimes they work well, and besides, you still have your original experience anyway. Its like movie makes of books, I'll normally say that the books are better, however I am prepared to watch the movie, as quite often it can add to your overall experience. If its done well that is. In those circumstances though, I'd rather see a divergence from the original than an exact replica in a different media, that adds nothing.
Digital enhancement however is a slightly different kettle of fish...
I guess it boils down to how much you are really impressed by the bigger, louder focus of todays entertainment... (eg, the 'home entertainment system' or "speakers so loud they blow women's clothes off"). If you are a bit of a fan of bigger and better as 'quality', then getting the digitally remastered version becomes a bit of a priority.
