I was wondering how many people make it out to his book signing/tours? I met him when A Feast for Crows was released--in New York. I'm hoping he does another book tour for the new one The book store was PACKED--it was wonderful, and he is such a witty guy--wonderful to listen to.

Re: Have you met GRRM? On his last book tour, he never came to Ottawa in his Canadian leg. I happened to be in London at the same time as the UK leg but due to work engagements could not make it to the book signing. I hope I'm more fortunate next year when I assume he will be promoting the newly-released ADWD.

Re: Have you met GRRM? Yes, very briefly at a signing. He talked for 45 minutes and then signed books (and, slightly intrigued at the trouble the attendee took to bring it some distance, the board game as well). I've met GRRM's significant other, Parris, several times (she's free to come to fan meetings and that sort of thing whilst George is busy writing the actual books). She is very cool and heavily into SF&F fandom, and has some great anecdotes about various authors that are very interesting (if possibly too libelous to repeat here).

Re: Have you met GRRM? Difficult to say. It's possible that Worldcon will be in Australia in 2010 (they're the only bid so far), so GRRM may hold off for that. Or indeed come both times. I don't think he wants to repeate the six-month signing tour that AFFC had though and he hates long plane trips, so my gut feeling is he may not be over there until then. Could be wrong.
