Safe from Sky

The BBC have bagged the rights to Heroes for the foreseeable future which, for people like me who object to paying £20 a month to watch 2 or 3 programmes, is great news!

Re: Safe from Sky

I suspect the sci-fi channel will still air it first though as they actually produce the show itself - cannot see them giving the series to the beeb before they air it

Re: Safe from Sky

Nope, read the article: "However, from the second series of Heroes the BBC has exclusive UK TV rights covering terrestrial and multichannel."

on the plus side we won't have to duck and dive adverts during programming - although i liked that sci-fi got a good original sci-fi series.

Re: Safe from Sky

Only thing i would say is that this only gives BBC the rights to buy the 3rd series onwards at a pre-arranged amount. Given the BBC's history of moving programmes about, changing their times, cancelling for a week or so because of football etc - if the viewing figures dropped any further i could see them not bothering and someone else picking it up.

Don't want to turn this into a BBC rant but if they want people to stick with the programming they show then they have to sort this out, i mean they even cancelled an episode of Dr Who one week for some show so non-descript ican't even remember what it was, probably eurovision or footie. You can say what you like about SKY monopolising the market but at least when i switch on at the same time every Tues or Wed or Sun etc i know the show will be on come rain or shine

Re: Safe from Sky

That's a very good point Stone! Not that I'm gonna go out and buy Sky or anything.

I'm not really bothered which channel any series airs on, as long as it's good and has a real ending that the writer already knows, I'm happy.
