WorldFantasy Convention: 2005

I'll have to check my diary, but I'll also see if I can bring the chronicles network to the WorldFantasy convention for 2005.

I *think* WI means it's in Wisconsin - which I believe is by the Great Lakes - chicago area (sorry, us Brits aren't great with the geography of US states!).

Think the Lovecraft convention is in the same state, but a couple of months earlier.

Some of us Yanks aren't, either! How sad.

Yes, WI = Wisconsin. Here's a link to a list of all US Postal Service state/territory codes.

The nearest big-city-that-non-North-Americans-know-about is indeed probably Chicago. This MultiMap Link should bring up a map at a sufficient scale to show Madison, Wisconsin in relationship to Chicago, Illinois. (Watch out for MultiMap trying to download adware onto your computer, however.)

Madison is the capitol of the state of Wisconsin, and is a fine place for a convention like WFC.

Thanks for the heads up for the Brits, Kevin - much appreciated - the location looks a little clearer now.

World Fantasy Conventions are large enough to be interesting while still remaining small enough to be intimate. The best time I ever had at a convention was at a WFC.
