| Re: A quick query: Magic I like the sound of this, would definately give it a try, so thats something. Defining magic too much can be a big put-off too many people it seems who prefer it to be 'roughly' described. However it seems that magic plays a secondary role and the story is more about how people come to terms with what they are? Suggestions: if you wanted any help I believe druids ran a similar kind of powerful ruling caste system over the ancient celts using knowledge and possibly some 'powers' as the foundation of their power, maybe you could do a little research into such a sytem? feist in Magician also looks at two different views of magicians if you've read it. in fact Tsuranni blackrobes are something similar to the magicians you've described whilst also being totally different, might be worth just casting an eye over his work though for a few ideas on feasability etc? |
