Those interactive RPG novels That came out under the dungeons and dragons brand... What's the name of such books? Where you read some story and then the reader gets to make choices that impact the story. I'd like to write one of my own, so I want to get a hold of a few. There's a name for this kind of books, but I can't remember it right now, please help!

Re: Those interactive RPG novels Yes! Maybe I was mistaken... That's what i was looking for, thanks!. I want to use that system but for an adult audience, telling a novel-quality story with emotional choices and what not.

Re: Those interactive RPG novels I think you would have a difficult time trying to pitch a "Choose Your Own Adventure" to the adult market, mainly becuase adults expect the writer to deliver his or her best ideas. Younger readers are more interested in the idea of being able to have control and choosing the course of events in a story. I could be wrong in this case, for I am just basing off personal experience. Cheers, WD

Re: Those interactive RPG novels Yes, I've always thought of "choose your own adventure" books as being for children. I had some that were Nancy Drew adventures when I was a kid. You might have a tough time marketing to adults. Although, I can see the appeal, but that might be my own nostalgia.

Re: Those interactive RPG novels Yes, I see how it can seem childish. My idea is to have it be less of "do you choose the left door or the right door", and more emotional and deep. Less of a game and more of a story where the reader is involved and takes active part in the storyline. Fewer choices but more developed consequences. It's purely a personal project though, so I don't care much about mainstream appeal. Thanks for the replies.
