Re: Who has a book? well i kinda didn't want to say anything too much (i shouldnt really say anything at all!) in case something hideous happens and the company goes bust before it comes out or something um, its due for release next december, a whole smelly year away. to be published by silverlake, an american small print company. i am looking for a uk based small print company so that i can hopefully get it into uk online bookshops as well as just american, but its kinda hard to find where to start with that, america seems to have more of everything! its fantasy, and its about candale, a foretold prophet of destruction, the shadow seer. im really not sure what else i can say, that's it in a sentence, but its hard to sum up. the first two books are abotu him discovering who he is, and what that means, and stuff like that, and who is behind the visions he has, and why she is doing it. i have another two planned, but they're harder to put into words. but yeah, basically, its about a prophet of destruction there is more info on my website and some extracts and so on.Last edited by the_faery_queen; 20th December 2005 at 08:21 PM.

Re: Who has a book? well i think writing should be enjoyable. so write cos you like it, and if you finish it, alls good ![]() i've written a tonne of novels that were awful, or that i just stopped becuase i got bored. i moved onto something else, but now i have this main one done, that should be coming out, its kinda made the whole writing thing less fun! i feel pressured to write the third book (tho god knows if the second will even get printed!) just because it MIGHT be required at some poitn. so there is definetly something to be said for never getting anywhere with anything! ![]() but i am sure you will finish it. or at least enjoy trying ![]()

Re: Who has a book? I have been working on several novels for many years but still not published yet. I hope to publish at least one of my novels before I die. :-) Some are fantasy and some are sci-fi. The one I've gotten the furthest on is a fantasy.

Re: Who has a book? Hi, everyone, My publisher, New Age Dimensions (NAD), is going out of business. They're based in Florida and apparently the recent hurricane had a detrimental effect on their financial situation. Well, that stuff can happen with small companies. It was a fun ride with NAD while it lasted. I got my fantasy novel published with them, which helped get my name out, and I will probably be published again in the future. Anyway, if any of you had thoughts of buying either my fantasy or the energetic healing ebook I have with them, you should still be able to do that for the next three weeks. The energy ebook and the fantasy novel are cheap to ebook download as ebooks. The trade paperback of the novel is a little more expensive. You can find them at, http://www.newagedimensionspublishin...terryweide.htm The paperback is also on Fictionwise, Amazon, etc. Again, the point is that if you want either of these items the time to buy them is now. If the company closes in a little less than a month, then these books will doubtless be unavailable. And the ebooks don't cost much. That's about it. I don't have hard feelings about this. NAD was a good publisher and it was good working with them. Change is a part of life, and it's doubtless time to move on and do other things. And bear in mind that if you get a book published with a small publisher, things like this can happen. If they do, I think you make the best of the situation and go forwards. All for the moment, best wishes, Terry P.S. It's possible the publisher could find a new buyer, but that's a little iffy.

Re: Who has a book? Hi There: I completed the first book in the series "Andrea Best" last year. It is available through lulu.com and through Amazon. The ISBN is 1-4116-2352-5. You can find out more about the series at andrea-best.com. The series is about a young woman, Andrea Best, and her brother, Michael, as they struggle to help their parents save the population of Earth in the year 2118. Global Warming has finally overtaken the environment and every creature needs to be evacuated by 2200. Nobody has a good answer to this crisis until Roger Best invents a Portal that can send people to different places and times across Universes. LJ Fallavollita

Re: Who has a book? Thank you so much, Brian, for this opportunity to tell the other forum members (and non-members) about my book! I self-published a young adult SF&F novel called The Orphan Prince. It tells the story of an eleven-year-old prince who witnessed his father’s assassination five years ago embarking on a journey to find the assassin, a famous swordsman from an enemy nation named Black Wolf. After a journey fraught with danger in which he survives multiple close encounters with death, Ari finally sees Black Wolf again and learns the reason why Black Wolf murdered his father. When he returns home, Ari finds himself facing the same moral dilemma that Black Wolf faced five years ago, and he is forced to make a choice that may affect the lives of countless humans. This novel is filled with action and adventure. It contains exciting sword duels, nightmarish monsters, and many compelling surprises and unexpected plot twists. It deals with the profoundest moral issues and plumbs great depths of sadness. It is a story about the tragedy of war and the darkness of revenge. Finally, it is a story about a lonely orphan’s yearning for affection and the power of a father’s love. You can read more about the novel on the novel’s website, www.orphanprince.com. If you enjoy young adult science fiction and fantasy, or if you have youngsters in your life who love to read and who are starving for new books, then this may be the book for you. It received iUniverse’s Editor’s Choice designation, so you can be assured of its good editorial quality (only one typo). Take a look at the “reviews” page on the website and see some readers’ comments. Several readers finished the book in one or two sittings, and several of them also inquired about a sequel. In addition, please check out the great artwork in the “art” section. I have been extremely busy with work since the publication of The Orphan Prince, but now I finally have time to promote this book. I self-published this book without submitting it to any agents or traditional publishers because I wanted to see it in print as soon as possible, and furthermore I was too busy at the time. I plan to eventually submit it for consideration for publication by a traditional publisher. I would appreciate any comments, feedback or advice, both on the book and on the website. Also, please let me know if any of you would be interested in writing a review. Thanks!

| Re: Who has a book? Hi Brian and everyone My own novel, Lord of Darkness and Shadow, is a fantasy/Science Fiction hybrid novel - here's the 'official' blurb: "Lord of Darkness and Shadow by Darren Reid is the first in a new series of novels that crossover and combine the best elements of fantasy and science fiction. A twisted mix of dark and high fantasy, science fiction and simple human drama, Lord of Darkness and Shadow takes its readers from the depths of space to a ruined and nightmarish world in which the forces of the dark rule and are beginning to amass, manipulating the world of light into an era of shadow. Lord of Darkness and Shadow in the first part in the Chronicles of the Shadow, an epic fantasy/science fiction series that is set to traverse numerous novels and centuries of humanities future. An epic book in the litterary tradition of Frank Herbert, Eric Van Lustbader and Iain M. Banks." If you goto my website DarrenReid dot co dot uk you will gets lots of info as well as wide range of exclusive online short stories - it also has the link to buy it on amazon dot com which i can't post yet Hope everyone's great! | Re: Who has a book? Keep writing and keep trying and one day when you least expect it it will happen. After nearly a hundred rejection letters, I had pretty much lost all hope, but then, after being away from home over Christmas just gone, I came back to the house on New Year's Day. When I got in, I checked my emails and there was a reply from a publisher saying that they would publish it. I thought it was a hoax at first! I couldn't believe it! That very morning I had been talking to my wife about New Year's resolutions, and mine was to not give up on the novel and make sure that it got published in 2006. And mere hours later, I was on the road to doing just that! Still can't quite believe it! So don't give up - if it's a true passion of yours go for it. |

Re: Who has a book? thanks, I will, and again, congratulations ![]() I still have a loooong way to go, both in writingskill and storyline. I'm abitious on writing the full story, but publishing isn't my main concern, since the bit I have now can't possibly make an entire book. I hope to write a series of five books, all hanging together like the LOTR trilogy. I think I have enough material to write all five books, but I've only have written less than a quarter of the first so far. If any one is willing to give it a read, PM me.
