The Art of War II: AmonRa vs. Leto OK, I've got most of the stuff done, but I'm afraid the map will take a little longer to do. Sorry about that, but I'll post all the texty bits for you first ![]() For both commanders: **************************** Your two city states ideologies are very opposing, and in the past their have been a few minor conflicts at the border between your two nations. However The Tsurari religeon is calling for a crusade against the Armori heathen and plan to kill or convert all of them. Having fought in the past you know a bit about each others tactics and strengths aswell as the units they may employ. A note on the battleground. The area is very hilly, bushy and rocky and does not support large engagements well. To have all your forces fight each other at once would require the front ranks to die to make room for the rest of them. In the past both sides have opted to create small legions and fight several small engaments. A battle of 20k troops is possible so about 10 from each side. A legion is therefore 10-15k strong but never larger. Objectives are very simple; -Destroy the enemy army, or its abilities to make war You will each be told the locations of your four legions but may inform me of what you want them to be made up of. (The map will be on the way...) So the cities don?t actually exist except as point of refrence. The Tsurari (AmonRa) are the left side the Armori (Leto) on the right. Getting your force off the map on the enmy side completes the second objective. The scale is pretty big. 10 days ride from east to west. The rivers are fordable in places but this takes time longer than crossing at the bridges. You each know that the enmy has a legion at kyer and tjener/fjener as yours face theirs here Beyond that the enemies force locations are unknown.

Re: The Art of War II: AmonRa vs. Leto For AmonRa: ******************************* Your soldiers training focuses on attack and driving forward in a head to head confrantation your soldiers always come out top. Unfortunatly their focused training on attack leaves them vunrable on the defence and to flanking. In fact your best defence against flanking is a counter attack. They consider dying in battle a glorious death, and retreating the act of the weak and cowardly. They will never retreat of their own accord, they may if ordered but they wont be happy. They also consider hiding behind walls and other defences an act of desperation and wont do it under any circumstances. 10k Hoplites- Shield, breast plate, helmet, greaves, spear, sword 10k Heavy Infantry- Full armour, tower shield, sword, 2 pillums 10k Cbows- No pavise, 25 second reload rate, light armour, 5k Hev Cav- lance, shield, sword, heavy armour 5k Light Infantry/skirm- Javelins, round shield, sword, light armour Your hoplites are your most powerfull infantry but are the most vunrable to flanking. Your heavy infantry is more rounded but will also suffer a disadvantage when flanked. Your enemy the Armori have in the past used superior speed and flanking, ambushes, and envelopment to counter your advantage in fair fights. Their soldiers are known for their fitness and speed and for wearing lighter armours. They have in the past never matched your forces in a head to head engagment. Your enemy mostly makes use of Light cav- fast Light infantry- fast but weak Cbows- Medium infantry-capable of short burst of speed good on offence Heavy infantry- good at holding a line You have three border legions one at fjener brige, kyer bridge, tjener bridge. And a reserve legion at beeda. You may decide on their arrangmet but must follow the following rules. Your cav must be in the reserve and you hoplites only in the three border legions.

Re: The Art of War II: AmonRa vs. Leto For Leto: ***************************** Your soldiers are a professional disciplined force. Their training focuses on an athletic conditioning. Your soldiers are very fit and can run very fast for short periods of time and are fast in general. They favour lighter armour. Your troops strongest asset is an ability to deploy quickly and reposition quickly. 10k Hev Infantry- sword, spear, large shield, good armour (only good holding a line) 20k medium infantry- sword, spear, small round shield, helmet, breast plate (fast and best used on the attack) 10k Light Infantry-sword, javelins, chain mail (fast but weak) 10k Cbows- No pavise, 25 second reload rate, light armour, 10k Raiding Cav- Lance, sword, small shield, light armour (fast) Your enemy the Tsurari are famed for their fighting spirit. In a direct attack their forces will crush will crush your own. However their forces are very vunrable to flanking manuvours and in the past these kinds of tactics have worked to even the balance of power. Your enemy mostly makes use of Hoplites- strong on offence, vunrable to flanking Heavy Infantry- balanced Hev cav- powerfull Cbows You have two legions stationed at Vak. One at Mierva. One at tjener. And another at Kyer. You may decide on their composition. But are bound in having your cavalry stationed at Vak. And your heavy infantry at the border legions. The ones at the rivers.

Re: The Art of War II: AmonRa vs. Leto Good on you ![]() Urm, yeah, working on getting the map up, but not doing so well right now... sorry. I'll get it soonish. I hope ![]() For Leto: **************** All your soldiers have a certain amount of engineering training. At worst, they can heave bits of wood around to a plan But bear in mind it may take a little while to build large objects...

Re: The Art of War II: AmonRa vs. Leto Of course, being naive and innocent, I hadn't factored in the 9 (yes, nine) powercuts we had last night. Buggery. Tonight, assuming the same doesnt happen again!
