Re: Hi Another Introduction and a Formating Question? Hi Mary, I use a Mac. What tool are you referring to for doing a word count? I'm guessing you don't mean the built in Word one! At this point I wouldn't dream of sending in a manuscript directly, so it's the agent for route me (hopefully). I'm even seriously considering using a publicist, but that's a way off just at the moment. Interesting you mention chapter length you work to. Mine are currently running at around 5,000, which for me actually feel too long. Nothing a redraft can't sort out though and tighten up. All a personal matter of taste of course. Nick

Re: Hi Another Introduction and a Formating Question? I won't add any more about formatting - you've got enough replies - but I'll just pop in here to say hello since you've not put this thread in the Intro forums and this is your welcome thread, in a sense. The people here are wonderful and, as you've already discovered, very helpful too. This site's worthwhile. ![]() See you around!

Re: Hi Another Introduction and a Formating Question? Hi Nick I will just add my welcome along with Leisha. Of course just a word of warning, now that you have entered the world of chrons, you may never get your book finished. I hope you do BUT you could just end up here for life!

Re: Hi Another Introduction and a Formating Question? Hi all, Many thanks for you kind welcomes. It's amazing how instantly you can feel at home somewhere and I really appreciate being able to talk to other writers who understand what this compulsion is like. I think I've probably have already got to the point of boring my family rigid about writing. I think I may have found a new daily habit with these forums, but then of course, writing is a way of life! Nick
