Re: What Now?

FYI she has already written another novel about monsters, a new children's book aimed at younger readers that is described as "a political fairy story". She's also working on a more adult novel.

Re: What Now?

She hasn't needed to write for the money since about Goblet, certainly Phoenix. At least in this series it's been about finishing and personal goals. Any future project will only ever need to be about her desire to tell a story, or at least do something to fill the time between reading bank statements. She's also already indicated the possibility of writing down all her background material, perhaps padded with existing canon descriptions into an encyclopedia (at some point): this heads down the path of keeping the existing fans happy with more HP universe.

Re: What Now?

Well if she wanted she could go do a merry jig all around Scotland. If she enjoys writing then why not write more?

Re: What Now?

She's said that she's got two projects on the go at the moment, one for adult one for children, and of course the encyclopedia somewhere down the line.

Hmmm, I don't think she can make it outside The HP Books, to be honest. I do enjoy her writing but she'll just be giving us constant reminders in her Writing Style.

Re: What Now?

Her first book outside HP will sell like anything, because of HP people will be expecting something good.

I think if the author's talented enough, he/she can successfully cast off their previous characters and start afresh. Unless, of course, she wants to leave a little bit of her HP characters in her new ones. After all, they've certainly been popular.

Re: What Now?

She should cast them off. It will make for more interesting books if she does.

Re: What Now?

That's my opinion too. I think she'll start with completely new characters and personalities - which will give us more people to get to know and love.

Re: What Now?

Possibly love and know. We don't know what her writing will be like outside of HP. Hopefully it will at least be decent.
