| www.sjswebdesign.co.uk | PC Security Here's a great little site which will check your PC for loopholes and backdoors through which hackers can gain access to your computer. It will scan your machine and display a block of little coloured squares. A green square is good, so if every one of these blocks are green, your PC is protected from backdoor trojans, worms, viruses, and hackers. Basically, it will check the efficiency of your firewall, presuming you have one installed (I hope you do!). If you fail the scan, you most likely have malware already on your system, in which case I'd recommend asking a computer-savvy friend to help you get rid of it. I recommend either of these free downloadable firewalls: ZoneAlarm (my personal favourite) or Kerio Personal Firewall. Anyway, here's the site that checks your PC's security: https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 Click the "proceed" button on the main page, then click "All Service Ports". There are also some other good scans you can choose too -- "File Sharing", "Common Ports", and "Messenger Spam" -- and these will check other holes in you system's security. I hope someone finds this useful! ![]() |
