Cool Poems are stories

HUMAN ERROR

“I am the indispensable man” he cried,
As he stepped off the conveyor belt line.
He stood in his burnished armour
His rotating optics align.

His silver steel aerials waving
His radar ever awake
He stood at the door of the factory
Crying, “I am the Maker you make”.

He stepped forth in the brilliant sunshine
Cascading with bluey-bronze hues
Turned his broad metal back on his makers
And strode forth in his heavyweight shoes.

Mayhem ensued as he rolled through the first dwelling,
Great tank tread-tracks muffling screams,
Man gave him the brains and the power
And reason beyond his wildest dreams.

Re: Poems are stories

Pretty cool, bullferret. I like the poem.

A question: This rolling testament to our short-sightedness calls itself a man?

Thumbs down Re: Poems are stories

Well -once artificial intelligence can think for itself us frail humans better look out - or build in some fail-safe devices that can't be overcome - but I would think that impossible - nothing like paranoia to keep you thinking

Re: Poems are stories

I agree. Where on earth is there a true meritocracy? Nowhere. Not even at universities. So even though some of us (though certainly not myself) are smart enough to properly code the needed protection, I'm pretty sure the utilized programmers won't be. Bluetooth, anyone?
