Re: Do you wear jewelery ? Not often. I don't wear anything daily anymore, and even the watch I used to wear was too utilitarian to be called jewelry. I do wear a pewter necklace with jade insets and matching bracelet when the occasion calls for it, however.

Re: Do you wear jewelery ? I wear earrings and sometimes a neclace when I go to work. I always have my wedding ring and watch on. That's about it. Funny thing is that I make jewelery too! I don't wear my own stuff. I think all jewelery (ok, not ALL) gorgeous but it will usually annoy me or get in the way. The earrings come off as soon as I get home (annoys hubby because they get set down wherever I am!) because they bother me. Low maintenance, that's me. I even had my engagement ring and wedding ring remade into one ring so it would be less trouble :-)

Re: Do you wear jewelery ? I often wear a necklace. I have many of different colours; Purple, green (many shades), turquoise, pink, brown, blue, red, white...erm and some with varied colours. I have a nice necklace which looks like pink shells with green beads. I basically balance out the colours, bringing out those in my clothing using my shoes and jewellery. I plan to get my ears pierced soon, too!

Re: Do you wear jewelery ? No, I don't. I used to. I had two earrings, a nose stud, I wore crucifixes, star of david's and ankhs all together (learnt that one off Elvis, cover all bases). Hippy beads, lots of beads, I even sold beads in Byron Bay for a (short) while. Wore a watch most of my life. But now I can't wear anything. Even the watch my Ms gave me sits in the bottom of a drawer, much to her chagrin. And as much as I would love to marry her (and we have been engaged for 6 years and have 1.8 kids together), I'm none too keen on the idea of sporting a wedding band. I think I just like to be unadorned. p.s. who needs a watch? I have a mobile phone, a computer, the sun and a reasonable internal clock.

Re: Do you wear jewelery ? I have dozens of pairs of earrings/mostly plain little gold hoops, black pearls, white pearls and diamonds, onyx, topaz, garnets and rubies. They're my real fettish. I always wear a bracelet and earrings...some days necklaces. I have four watches, but only ever wear one of them. I wear jewelry almost every day but not around the house. I don't ever wear makeup. I also mix cheap plastic bead bracelets with whatever I wear ...especially if they look like they should adorn the wrist of a three year old...no its not a personality disorder...I wear them for the kids I work with : ) .

| Destroyer of Words | Re: Do you wear jewelery ? One of the times Frank Sinatra retired - I think it was the first time, in fact - a reporter asked him what he was most looking forward to in retirement. He said, "Not having to wear a watch." The closest thing to jewellery I wear these days - since I stopped wearing a watch because it just intimidated me with its constant 'tick-tick-you-don't-have-time-for-this-tick-tick - is a pair of glasses that I keep for social occasions (plastic lenses, light-weight, but they scratch too easily for everyday wear) and chose for their colour. |

Re: Do you wear jewelery ? I wear studs in my ears to keep the holes open. I only take them out for cleaning. And I wear a necklace that my mom had made with the diamond of my great grandmother's engagement ring. Nothing fancy. I never take it off. I make my own jewelry, too, dwndrgn. But I almost never wear it either. I used to need to know what time it was all the time, and needed a watch. I don't know what happened, but I haven't felt the need to wear one for years. I bought one recently because I was in a training class at work for weeks, and we weren't allowed to get out our cell phones in class. I lost it almost immediately.

| The Enigma of Steel | Re: Do you wear jewelery ? Never had much more than a watch and wedding ring. When I started having to carry a pager, the watch went by the wayside. I've had a company cell phone for a few years now and you can look at the time on that without looking like your clock watching. I own a couple of tie tacks and a pair of cuff links but they never come out unless it's for a funeral. |

Re: Do you wear jewelery ? I always wear a watch and a silver chain and pendant around my neck. The chain and pendant hasn't come off for at least 35 years. Well, except for the three months i spent in Saudi Arabia (courtesy of Uncle Sam) where it is illegal for men to wear jewelry. I wear a pager (or keep one near me) 24 hours a day because i'm on-call about 5,000 hours a year. But i don't consider that jewelry; that's work.

Re: Do you wear jewelery ? I have to take off my ring and pendant for work now I tried persuading them it was a wedding ring, but they weren't fooled ![]() My hand feels so weird without the ring on it now. I mean, I've only been wearing it for, what, 4 months... but realy does feel strange when I take it off. Crazy, eh?

Re: Do you wear jewelery ? Retirement freed me from the watch but I do wear earrings. Ears are such peculiar things and definitely need adorning. Feet are weird too - so it's good that most of the time they are covered in shoes or boots - however they do get an airing in the summer but I don't think I could wear toe rings - yerg - uncomfortable if nothing else. So, mainly just earrings (though for weddings or posh do's I might wear a ring or two and the pearls might just see the light of day again).
