Re: Swordsman Tournament: Pick who wins!

I tried to work through the individual fights but i had no pen and paper and it started to hurt my brain lol.

I think you got the winner right but i would probably have had a different opponent for decado to decapitate.

Thiis thread makes me realise how long it's been since i read some of the books as it can be difficult to remember things about certain characters.

True. I haven't read his books in quite a while and I probably missed a couple of good fighters. I just want to get everyones opinion on who is the best swordsman.

Re: Swordsman Tournament: Pick who wins!

You cant take a tournament where Serbitar goes to the finale seriously....

He was not that good with swords, he was as good as thirty with his powers and skill can but not good enough to go the final.

Plus where is Tenaka Khan ??, Decado himself said he was the only with a chance to beat him which was why he went after to kill him in a duel.

It's your choice mate. I just randomly picked out the way the fighters would square off. Just follow the instructions. In my own opinion Tenaka could be beaten by several swordsmen in Gemmels books. But you just made me realise I made a mistake. I didn't even include his fight from the last 32 But even so, although I would of picked him to beat Viruk, I would of picked Dace to defeat him in the last 16. As I said though, it's all just my opinion.

Re: Swordsman Tournament: Pick who wins!

I see what you mean but the fact that Decado compared him to himself swordmaster wise should make Tenaka Khan at least semifinal

Re: Swordsman Tournament: Pick who wins!

I liked your results man though I have to agree that Tenaka probably deserved to get a bit further. Besides Decado, he was by far the greatest swordsman of his time until Chareos turned up.

Having said all that, I think it was a pretty fair call how Serbitar made it as far as he did. The guy was actually a really deadly swordsman if you bother to take note of his fight scenes in Legend.

Anways, mad respect dude.
Peace

Re: Swordsman Tournament: Pick who wins!

Serbitar was deadly but his problem is that the rest of his thirty was atleast as good swordsman. They killed as well in Legend. No one of them stood out swordsman wise.

It wasnt like Decado's thirty where he dominated with his skills.

Re: Swordsman Tournament: Pick who wins!

That proves nothing except the fact that Serbitar's thirty was made up of better quality swordsmen. Decado did dominate as leader, but having said that, Decado dominated everyone. Serbitars group are constantly referenced for their skill, where as Decado is the only one of note in his. I just think Serbitar deserves a bit more respect than you seem to be giving him
