Favorite Lines From The Harry Potter Series... I just finished reading the last book and I had to giggle at Molly Weasley. Her words to Belletrix (sp) were awesome and are so me it was unreal. That scene was one of the best in whole series in my opinion. So one of my favorite lines from the series is "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH." Not because she said a swear word... but because we saw Mrs Weasley in a whole new way. I didn't know she had it in her. ![]()

Re: Favorite Lines From The Harry Potter Series... This section made me laugh (the ear incident, of course): "How do you feel, George?" whispered Mrs Weasley. ..."Saint-like" he murmured. "What's wrong with him?" croaked Fred..."Is his mind affected?" "Saint-like," repeated George..."You see...I'm holy. Holey, Fred, geddit?" Hee.

Re: Favorite Lines From The Harry Potter Series... One from HBP that makes me laugh out loud every time. Ron, on ghosts - "When we come face-to-face with one down a dark alley, we're going to be having a shufti to see if it's solid, aren't we, we're not going to be asking, 'Excuse me, are you the imprint of a departed soul?'"

Re: Favorite Lines From The Harry Potter Series... I always liked Fred and George's smart comments, but my favourite line is probably Snape's "Out for a little walk... in the moonlight are we?"

Re: Favorite Lines From The Harry Potter Series... I've always liked Snape's introduction to Potions, it was executed brilliantly by Rickman in the film too... it's just his twisted loving caressing of the words... "I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses ...I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death..." Not humorous but still one of my favourite bits... xx

Re: Favorite Lines From The Harry Potter Series... Two of my fave bits - both non-humorous - concern Sirius, the best one of them all, for me!!). Are you allowed to fancy fictional characters?!! The first one from GoF, when they meet up with "Snuggles" in the cave, and he says, re house-elves, summat like "If you want to get the measure of a man, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals". The second one is, after Sirius has died, summat about how Harry was looking at "two universes, the one with Sirius and the one without". Fave funny lines....I need to narrow it down, there are so many!! I'll have a think about it.

Re: Favorite Lines From The Harry Potter Series... Yes, I have seen similar, but I just love the way JK includes this kind of stuff in a series of books (allegedly) for children........and the way that kids then start thinking about things like respect, treating people well, "doing the right thing" - like Dumbledore's speech after Cedric dies, about choosing to do what's right, instead of what's easy.

Re: Favorite Lines From The Harry Potter Series... One line that always amuses me, but it's only in the film, is spoken by one of my least favourite characters, Ron. When Hermione accidentally turns herself into a part cat, and wails "Look at my face!" - and Ron counters, "Look at your tail!" In the book of course (Chamber of secrets) Ron only says "Uh-oh", and it's Moaning Myrtle who chortles, "Wait till they find out you've got a tail!" - a rare case of a film improving on the book! I also loved Molly Weasley's "Not my daughter..." during the Battle, and Dumbledore's "few words" at the welcoming banquet in The Philsopher's Stone: "Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"

Re: Favorite Lines From The Harry Potter Series... i absolutely loved the scene in the last book where ron and luna are under the invisibility cloak in the ravenclaw common room and Amycus Carrow spat in Proffesor McGonogall's face and harry burst out from the cloak and said "You shouldn't have done that!...Crucio!...I see what she meant you had to mean it." Most awesome point ever!! I can't wait to see Dan Rad pull it off! ![]()
