| Re: Dilemmas revealed in US-UK relationship You can view this in several ways. I think this is political expediency, I do not think the UK intelligence community is in any way ethical. The special relationship between the US and the UK is in reality just a result of our many shared economic interests. When they diverge the old adage 'that countries don't have loyalties they just have interests' becomes apparent. Here you could say this is PR because we have economic interests in certain arab countries who may be offended by the US actions. We will do as we are told but distance ourselves. |
