Re: Federation surplus

I have made purchase from Federation Surplus a number of times, and I will be buying from them again in future. Their products are outstanding replicas of the props they represent, the most accurate I've seen.

There are a few things to remember, however, when purchasing from them:

1. You are not getting a toy. You're getting a prop replica that's generally a great deal better in quality than the actual prop it represents. As such, they're not cheap, and they're not meant for a whole lot of being played with.

2. Often, the item you're ordering will need to be made from the ground up, so it might take a bit of time. Brett, the owner, always gives me updates, often including photos, of the items I ordered. Just bear in mind that it may be more than a month or two.

3. Prepare to be amazed when you receive your order (or positively gobsmacked if you order a hero replica).

Re: Federation surplus

Sadly, you are not the only one having problems with Federation Surplus.

I and two others that I know of have all been waiting for months for items that were paid for and have not been received. Further, there is no e-mail from the owner, Brett Jones.

After a very good business relationship and several items purchased and received from them, I've found it necessary to begin legal action in an attempt to recoup the money I've paid for two items and have been waiting over 8 months for.

Today is 26 April, 2008. The last e-mail I received from him was 16 March, 2008, when he promised me that my order would be shipped in two weeks.

The only thing I can suggest is that if you haven't ordered from them, don't. And if you have, I wish you the best of luck in getting either your order or your money back. It's not much help, but know at least that you're not alone.

I'm quite embarrassed in that I'd given a glowing statement for Federation Surplus, only to have them turn out to be less than stellar.

Hopefully, we'll all get our orders. Best of luck.
