| Re: Tell Me Why? Thanks for the links, I found the reviews interesting. Not sure if they grab me though as I tend to shy off from Sci-Fi. Gets too technical and spoils the story for me. It's all those long words, I can't cope Now if Baker had written a fantasy novel then I would be tempted. |

| Re: Tell Me Why? Actually, she has written a fantasy novel, "The Anvil of the World". I haven't read it yet, but I've heard good things about it. I wouldn't let worries about her sci-fi being too technical and jargon-filled stop you from trying her work. I don't even recall that there is ever an explanation of how Mendoza's "credenza" - the piece of equipment that she uses to analyze specimens in her botany work - operates. It's just there and it works. Oh, and sorry that it took me so long to see this thread - I'm still trying to get back on track and on schedule after devoting all of last week to the ballet. ![]() |
