I'm an avid science fiction and fantasy fan and i've joined the site largely because i'd like to meet some talented writers for a project i'm working on.

I think this site might also be a great place from which i can gather ideas and pick the brains of some very smart and interesting people.

Have you been lurking long, to decide this place is the solution to all your problems (not that I'm saying it isn't, this is merely my protection against getting sued fornot having informed new members about the potentially harmful side effects, in particular the habit-forming tendencies of this place. While these are cumulative over time, the effect of logging on and posting accelerates the process, and even with this exposure you're probably beyond hope already (which doesn't make it much of a warning I suppose - perhaps I should try for interesting? No, perhaps not).
Welcome aboard; I await the details on your project with baited breath (last time I caught a nice pair of bream).

I just tried to pronounce your name,my tongue got stuck in my throat,
i fell 4 feet backwards,onto a table,which propelled a goldfish bowl into the
air,which landed on my sister's head,and we both ran out of the house,yelling for help,or in my case,gargling for help,the goldfish bowl making some passersby think my sister was an alien who had landed here,and my gargling made people think i was a zombie,so the police,the army and the Dutch version of Mulder and Scully got called in.
I am now typing from the police station computer.
I am allowed one phonecall,and Chris P. can expect it any moment now.
I am accused of disturbing the peace once more*the last time was for my
tuba/5.000 watt Marshalll amp stunt*,and have a lot of explaining to do.

IKEA cupboard assemblage instructions and the Scientology newsletter.
You now start to wonder: am i in safe hands here?

hahaha... um... *backs away slowly* lol - we certainly have some very imaginative people here

ok well, to say a little more about me.. i live in Canberra Australia...
always loved scifi and fantasy, from the time dad read me the arabian nights and lord of the rings as a young child. big fan of eddings (or his older stuff at least), feist, jordan, gemmell, harry harrison, asimov, terry brooks and others. love star wars, startrek, babylon 5.

i'm currently working for an independant game development company on a 3d RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world. i'm currently reading through "a canticle for leibowitz" to try and keep me "in character" or whatever lol. part of the reason i'm joining the site is because we need some talented writers to join us, we've got programmers and 3d artists and concept artists and webdesigners and game designers, but we need story writers, plot writers and dialogue writers:P but yeah i'm not gonna post up much by way of details because it'll get blocked as spam since i'm under 15 posts. i noticed the "self promotion" thread and will post in that in due course, anyone who is particularly interested can send me a private message.
