| dark and stormy knight | Re: Now Playing... "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight" off a home-made cd from a friend. Can't remember the names of the guys who recorded this but I think they were the ones who wrote a lot of the Monkey's stuff. Just got over and now it's "Before Love Came To Town", the duet U2 did with B.B, King. Bono does a good job but he's no match for B.B. Now it's "Just To Ease My Worried Mind" by Roy Acuff from 1940. Now this is music: it don't mean a thang if it ain't got that twang! "Old Blue" by the Byrds just came on. Classic. |

| Re: Now Playing... No match for BB is right. Trivia question...without looking it up... Who played guitar on all the early BB King records...Sweet Little 16 etc. which we mostly had on 78 RPM? |

| Re: Now Playing... Watching Chet Atkins- CGP (Certified Guitar Player) on TV at 1 A.M...surprised me...there's Michael MacDonald... now Waylon Jennings. ANd of course now Willie Nelson...fortunately not playing guitar. Knopfler, Everly Bros.... a really happy bunch of pickers.*) Willie Dixon played guitar? I was fortunate enough to see him while he could still stand up and play bass in the 70s. But BB...nobody played guitar. BB were a famous singer before he ever picked it up. So it was horns, and that's where he lernt his guitar, from horn players. |
