Scar - no longer the final word

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Author 'devastated' at Potter end

JK Rowling is to appear on tonight's Jonathan Ross show, describing writing the end of Deathly Hallows, and other things. And for those who've been trying to work it out, "scar" is no longer the final word...

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

Since it's only about to be published, it hasn't officially been scar yet. Only in draught...

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

She probably just changed the last two words around for all the people who were saying it was scar.

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

They were only saying it was scar because she said so in a very early interview. Presumably the first one in which she admitted she'd already written the final chapter of book 7. It has since gone, of course, from lying around in a box in her house to a box in a strong room in a bank. And then been edited/rewritten a little bit anyway, hence this latest "revelation". Which is only part of the book 7 publicity machine anyway...

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

What I cant get at is how can you write the final chapter before the rest. I mean I always know what is going to happen at the end of books I write but to actually write it down would be very bad indeed. I mean you might change your idea and then have this last chapter that you want to use cause you think it is good.

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

I guess JK had a very thorough idea of all that was to come in Dallows and no changes that she could make would directly interfere with the last chapter - which is supposed to be about what happens after everything, the characters futures...

Precisely. "And Harry woke up, it had all been a dream. He put his hand to his head and there was no scar..."

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

So what do people reckon the final word(s) will be? My money is on "The End." But I'm traditional that way

*howls with laughter*
That's priceless! And so down to the earth practical... I wouldn't be too surprised if these *are* the last words... *tries to stifle more laughter* Oh my, you made my day... But we'll find out soon enough anyways. Only a few more days to go...

*twiddles thumbs*
