Re: Scar - no longer the final word

As the last word of the book is on the last page of an epilogue, then *shrugs shoulders* It is not important as regards the ending of Harry's adventures is it? They end seven pages before.

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

Well "Scar" was nearly the last word. It was in the sentance before the last.

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

In a recent interview JKR points out she was thinking about a much more detailed epilogue, but chose against it in the end. She gave away some extra information, though may continue with an encyclopaedia.

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

I don't know if I'd read the encyclopaedia, though; I read a book for its storylines and its characters. An encyclopaedia...

I think I'll leave it with the ending I've read.

I could have done without reading the epilogue.

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

Scar is almost the last word. Even if she changed the line, she has the same sentiment.

I just thought Neville was too young to be Hogwarts Head but i realise now I read it wrong and he is Herbology Professor. The expanded epilogue you posted a link to gives much more information.

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

Given that in Muggle schools a teacher might only be four years older than their pupils, Neville being 15+ seems quite reasonable. Can you get Muggle heads at 35 - I guess so in theory, but they'd probably have to be pretty impressive.

Re: Scar - no longer the final word

Yeah but he isn't the Head so it wouldn't matter. Be cool if he became it later in life though.
