Re: News on Martha

NO, I've been very random in my watching of Torchwood. However, everytime I see it there seems to be some weird sexual encounter going on, usual with some alien type. The characters, when they weren't getting off with eachother or an alien, didn't appear that emotionally stable to me. They didn't look all that hard to overcome and I felt they were just plain lucky to ever prevail against anything to be honest.

I just got the impression of a lot of emotional, over sexed incompitents, lurching haphazardly from one improbable situation to another.

But only watched about 4 episodes and don't know which they were. I may have just been unlucky in my viewing

Unfortunately, both accurate and true.

No, any four episodes taken at random would give you exactly the same impression ..........

Re: News on Martha

Considering what I think of Torchwood and what I thought of Martha, they seem very suited to each other.

Interesting how in the penultimate Dr Who this series Martha has already got into the habit of following Jack's orders.

Less sex - more substance

Unless its less substance - more sex!!

Yup. That's pretty much it. Though for some reason, it seems that only the Chron members have this opinion of the show. Most other places seem to love it.

I'm actually quite annoyed that they keep crossing a kids show into an adult one. Little kids who want to follow Martha's adventures with Torchwood might be in for a nasty shock when confronted with Torchwood's love of gore, rape, shagging and the wobbling backside of Rhys. I don't mean hard-arse teens, I mean the really little kids that make up quite a lot of the fan-base. I don't think it's fair to them, personally.

Re: News on Martha

Ooooo cheeky

I thought the end of season was really really bad and there were some rather naff episodes but quite frankly overall I liked it. The fairy episode was unerving and the episode with the cannibals was very good. Two high points anyway I had to keep watching it the wife liked wee pug face was it Owen? Anyway Martha might knock that lot into shape who knows? Be fair it WAS the first season.

I've corrected your sentence for clarity and to reflect the general tone of the show.

BHA-HA! HA HA!

Oh man, that spoof sums up so perfectly everything that sucks about Torchwood. From the look of it they actually got hold of the Torchwood SUV as well!
"Owen, what have we got?"
"A pound shop Tom Cruise and the scrapings off the floor of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer script meeting?"
