| Hi, Here I am at Chron. Hi to the members of the forum, I'm an Aussie who has googled my way to a recommended reading list...in despair of what book next to read. Looks like I won't be running out of ideas any time soon. I love this forum. Nope, I have utterly no writing talent whatsoever. Thankfully, others do LOL. Have currently read: Temerare and the Troy Game. Love Robin Hobb's Liveship Traders series. |

I think you'll fit in well here! ![]() I didn't realise when I came to the Chronicles late last year that my reading list would increase as much as it has. There's very little room on my bookshelf now, and I must have visited the library more than I ever did in the past few years. I wouldn't have it any other way, though! |

| 'what to eat' fan | Re: Hi, Here I am at Chron. Welcome Aussie Aussborne! It' s been a while since i did an introduction,So I am a little rusty. aahhhh,GOOGLE. Actually I found Google by Yahooing Google, and Yahoo by Googling Yahoo, and "search engine" by Yoogling, and Gaglooing Yagle, and juggling MSN,and Internet explorer by Gargling " browser". I found the Chrons on the internet,by using Boolean logic or something,or binary hexadecimals,Joel knows what i mean,he understands me .I googled "Chronicles, forum, recluse,Lenny,Joel,Allegra,Pyan, insanity, Eddings, Lovecraft, get out while you can" and thus found this place. so you're an antipathetic then, coming from Down under? you got "DOWN UNDER SYNDROME"? That is,you sound like Steve Irwin did, bless him? Australians are funny people.Few people know they'r marsupials, carrying their pouches on their backs, calling them "backpacks" are you aware that you are in grave danger here? the very friendly environment here will lead to an almost parasite-like attachment to your keyboard, and in the future you will respond to people asking you questions with typing motions, while muttering "submit reply, preview post" For god's sake don't take me seriously, the few people that did are now in the "confined/solitary/untreatable" wards of psychiatric hospitals. I am from Holland,or "up there",at it is also known. Holland is wedged between the North Sea,Germany, and Belgium,so you can understand our desperate plight. Thank god you don't try to write, mate,Chris Penycate's agenda is full as it is already Last edited by HardScienceFan; 30th June 2007 at 04:07 PM. |

| Re: Hi, Here I am at Chron. Welcome. areader! Good to see another Pratchett(just saw you another post) and Hobb fan. Same as Talysia, my books have increased a lot since I joined. It's inevitable. Many members are extremely well-read and not only SF/F. The best thing about this forum apart from the friendly people & environment, it has a large coverage on many subjects. There are lots of interesting, thought-provoking discussions going on though lately a little less than before but well, its summer, too hot to think and time to play - and yes, there's a playroom where you can have fun and play along - till you are tired that is. Our professional guide Chrispen will welcome you shortly with all the wit and wisdom. Right now he's most likely babysitting. Have a good time.![]() |

| resident pedantissimo | Re: Hi, Here I am at Chron. Hello, there. Did you come to join the "Ozzies for world domination" society? I believe our local secetary (fot this planet) is Rosemary+, which is not entirely reasonable as she's really a pom who just lives down under (still, reasonabikity is not our strongest suit) Due to the hetrogeny of our regular residents (apart from a taste for the same style of literature, we have little in common, even our insanities diverging from the norm like an irate if somewhat confused porcupine {which, given the dimensional instabilitues of this place is comprehensible« the confusion, that is, not the irateness} except for a kind of politeness which traverses species barriers) you are likely to get a couple of lifetimes-worth of reading suggested to you in your first few hours of attendance, but one additional advantage of this site is that, even if you manage to obtain the books in question you will never get round to reading them due to the amount of time you spend logged on (and if I found a sentence like that in something I was critiquing, I'd definitely suggest it be split, but nobody dares correct me) Too late to warn you against accepting peanuts, I see, and addiction warning are invariably ignored (although we are, you know) So, welcome in, post much (yes, I've noticed it is well begun), enjoy. |

| Re: Hi, Here I am at Chron. ... all hail Google ![]() Meowrr and Namaste. Just know that you are doomed. Escape is impossible and you really should not believe anyone who tells you they are quite sane by any accepted standard. In return we offer books, movies, music, cats and possibly chopsticks along with conversations on just about anything and everything along with peanuts, cakes, chocolate and whisky. ![]() As for the basement, please feel free to visit. We're always hungering for visitors. A visit to the attic would be fine so long as you bring a basket of Gorgonzola with you. A visit to the piranha pool would require you to read them a chapter from Moby Dick. Come visit the Tea Room (The Quiet Room) and tell us about your favourite authors, movies, music ... It's always a good idea to bring something intriguing for the cat when visiting. |
