Re: WorldCon 2007 , Japan For those folks who are following my affair with the Hugos I'll be casting my ballot this weekend. There's something like 13 categories to vote for which can become a little bewildering.. ![]() I've also booked some day trips in Japan to Osaka, Hiroshima, Narrah and Mt Fuji which I'm really looking forward to.... ![]()

Re: WorldCon 2007 , Japan Just submitted my ballot for this year's Hugo Awards. It was tough going choosing from some 15 categories. Categories and my votes were: Best Novel: Eifelheim by Michael Flynn Best Novella: The Walls Of The Universe by Paul Melko Best Novellette: Yellow Card Man by Paolo Bacigalupi Best Short Story: Impossible Dreams by Tim Pratt Best Related Book: Heinlein's Children by Joseph T Major Best Dramatic Presentation Long Form: V for Vendetta Best Dramatic Presentation Short Form: Stargate SG-1 Best Editor Short Form: Gardiner Dozois Best Editor Long Form: James Patrick Baen Best Professional Artist: John Picacio Best Semiprozine: Locus Best Fanzine: SF Five-Yearly Best Fan Writer: Steven H Silver Best Fan Artist: Frank Wu John W Campbel Award for best new writer: Scott Lynch I'm sure most of my votes won't go towards the majority winner but then again I had a lot of fun judging this year's entrants.... ![]()

Re: WorldCon 2007 , Japan Sounds pretty good and if you had fun to boot than it's definitely a good thing. Am keeping my tail crossed for Melbourne too in 2010. I hope they get it since several people I know would be able to attend as well. Have fun and I'll see you here. ![]()

Re: WorldCon 2007 , Japan I almost died when I found out it was in Japan. Sadly I can't make it but I do know my local anime club is making it a part of their anual tour. There are some seriously good guests!
