| resident pedantissimo | Re: Hello from Canada...... Right, Canada, Startreck, to boldly split infinitives no man has boldly split before; how am I supposed to build that into a welcome thread? Trekking is your only point of contact? I cannot inquire about what you read, what you're writing, whether you game. Well, I know you're not drastically young, since you saw some of the sixties, (which means you know the only trekers that I've seen) No, it only remains for me to welcome you in to this home from home, inhabited by la rême de la crême, Post, get involved, enjoy. |

I've watch quite a bit of Star Trek myself, so I am not quite a complete ignoramus. ![]() But yes, WELCOME to this madhouse. The exit doors are padlocked. Enjoy! |

| 'what to eat' fan | Re: Hello from Canada...... Welkom ,from a Dutchie, former Star Trek freak,of the Nimoy/Shatner generation. I often go where no man has gone before, say into the Bar of The Bigot's Society, wearing only a pink tutu and a lot of lipstick,or to a Klan meeting just saying "Obama for President",or to a Creationist's convention wearing my "Cosmic Background Radiation " T shirt, with on the back side:God was stoned when he created Man. I always have thought Lt.Uhuru was cute, and should have been more in the forefront of the series. Captain Picard is also good, but his unruly shock of red hair upsets me every time i see it. A word of warning eople trying to escape this place will be tarred and feathered. As the tar is very hard to get off,and the feathers make you look silly,no one has tried it yet You have met mr Penycate;they call him "the introductor"(T shirts available, except in X-large). He is that rare combination,a man of intellect and wisdom.Intellect is when you have high IQ,wisdom is knowing when, how, and where to apply it. I knew a neurophyisiologist whose life's ambition was to prove the presence of the electric currents indicative of higher brain activity in Homo parishiltonensis,var.xanthopilosus. see the difference now? |

| Re: Hello from Canada...... Meowrr and Namaste. Just know that you are doomed. Escape is impossible and you really should not believe anyone who tells you they are quite sane by any accepted standard. In return we offer books, movies, music, cats and possibly chopsticks along with conversations on just about anything and everything along with peanuts, cakes, chocolate and whisky. ![]() As for the basement, please feel free to visit. We're always hungering for visitors. A visit to the attic would be fine so long as you bring a basket of Gorgonzola with you. A visit to the piranha pool would require you to read them a chapter from Moby Dick. Come visit the Tea Room (The Quiet Room) and tell us about your favourite authors, movies, music ... It's always a good idea to bring something intriguing for the cat when visiting. |
