| Another n00b Hi there. I am new to this forum. About me: I am about 19 yrs old and I have graduated from high school. I will be attending college to major in physics, trying to decide between astrophysics or nuclear . My interests are physics, chess, anime, RPG and TBS video games, and of course science fiction. Hope to "meet" people soon. |

| 'what to eat' fan | Re: Another n00b Welcome Corona. Yeah, can't seem to fall asleep,so I thought whattheheck, might as well do an introduction. I am Dutch,so be warned. Astrophysics huh? Not my forte H. Morgan, S. R. Habbal An Empirical 3D Model of the Large-scale Coronal Structure Based on the Distribution of Hα filaments on the Solar Disk IfA-06-149 A&A 464, 357-365 (2007 how did that get there? Sorry. uuh you've come to the wrong place buster. For instance I don't know Asimov from Brin,or Clement from Anderson. This is in reality a romance novel forum See: "his throbbing" "her heaving" or in full, "His throbbing temples told him he neede to take an aspirin" and " her heaving arms lifted the laundry basket" L. Samushia, G. Chen, B. Ratra Galaxy Cluster Gas Mass Fraction and Hubble Parameter versus Redshift Constraints on Dark Energy IfA-07-109 pdf (arXiv:0706.1963) Astrophysics, that's today you'll meet a tall dark, handsome stranger and discover you're gay, right? Me,I am a creationist,so this E. Daddi et al. ( G. Morrison) Multiwavelength Study of Massive Galaxies at z ~ 2. II. Widespread Compton Thick AGN and the Concurrent Growth of Black Holes and Bulges doesn't mean anything to me,really the Universe was created by God as a backdrop for Man's antics, because otherwise we would look darn silly. And although he was omnipotent,it took him seven days,no less, not including coffee breaks, and the occasional hotdog for dinner. My introductions are not noted for their shortness,BTW,run while you can. As i see Allegra coming online,my audience expands,my ego thus expands, and volumetrically speaking, your cup is overflowing. The universe is expanding as well,so it all makes sense in the end. Are you an aspiring writer? I have bought a bottle of AntAuthor, the spray that keeps aspiring writers at bay Wait, wait I haven't finished yet. I am sponsored by Nike in my effort to break the postal barrier. I am closely followed by Chris Penycate, but I've got verbal diarhea, and he hasn't so, i'll win automatically,on volume. I am very drowsy,so don't be surprised so dont bif i fall aslppe on the key7obordad,678,@WO) alt shift caps lock Last edited by HardScienceFan; 24th June 2007 at 05:30 AM. |

| Re: Another n00b Meowrr and Namaste. Just know that you are doomed. Escape is impossible and you really should not believe anyone who tells you they are quite sane by any accepted standard. In return we offer books, movies, music, cats and possibly chopsticks along with conversations on just about anything and everything along with peanuts, cakes, chocolate (it's truffles & pralines today) and whisky (Chivas Regal). ![]() As for the basement, please feel free to visit. We're always hungering for visitors. A visit to the attic would be fine so long as you bring a basket of Gorgonzola with you. A visit to the piranha pool would require you to read them a chapter from Moby Dick. Come visit the Tea Room (The Quiet Room) and tell us about your favourite authors, movies, music ... It's always a good idea to bring something intriguing for the cat when visiting. |

We even have a gaming section too, you know. The Lounge is a friendly place for newbies to visit, if you feel so inclined. There are some wonderful threads there, such as Vent and Rant (which I love) and the Picture of the Day (which I've just been spamming with my photos of Scotland! ![]() Hope to see you around! |

| resident pedantissimo | Re: Another n00b No, I will not ask where in Massachusetts; but I will ask you to bring us up to date on favorite books, authors, sub-genres and the like. Astrophysics or nuclear? Sounds as if you're intending to sink your teeth into the campus life rather than risk the cold, brutal outside world. I will be expecting to see you in the Science / Nature forum; if there isn't anything there that inspires you, put something there. (I believe everyone on this site should be involved, to give us the most accurate picture of the chroniverse; there's a fair amount of "dark matter" for the instant, and it ain't all spiders) Of course, your chosen subject (whichever it may be) is going to attempt to tear your attention away from your developing Chronicles addiction, but have no fear; illogical as it may sometimes be, tis place can give you a touch stone in irreality, despite the esoteric studies of what reality might be (but will, in all probability, turn out not to. When it comes to unscrewing the inscrutabe; where's my inscrudriver? Welcome in; you should be able to enjoy it here. At least till they take the lid off to check your eigenstate (miaow) |

| 'what to eat' fan | Re: Another n00b Pavlovian reflex:ThinK Penycate, think HSF,long introduction I seem to have forgotten to bid you welcome, how odd,how dementia praecox. You see we Dutch have no memories to speak of,which is ,well, very awkward. Penycate, where have I heard that name before? Noble prize Physics and Chemistry, both in 1978,Literature in 1983,Peace prize in 1986?Is that him. Chronicles introduction prize 2006,nominee for 2007 already Don't read Sf,mate,it's bad for you. I mean, you'll be in asynchronous orbit with the dregs,uh, rest of humanity, will grow up inquisitive, smart, knowledgable, intellectually curious, and,by visting us, humorous. For God's sake, think of all that, that's a one way ticket to ostracized nerdiness,in our society.Think babes,Angelina Jolie,Swimsuit International special issue, drugs, beer, crack, cocaine,'Friends' reruns,Adidas, fast cars instead, far more useful. uhh welcome |
