Still the same Novel: The Footstool of God Genre: Fantasy Word count: 3,000 Status: Just started and enjoying it. It is a stand alone piece 20 years before the events of the sereis and dealing with some of the same charcaters, but younger. Enjoying the challenge of keeping everything tight, and looking forward to getting to the big end, which is clear;y some way off with the series. Keep writing everyone |

Re: The chronicles word counter! Novel: Violet Strewn Fields Genre: Fantasy Word Count: 73,700 Status: Active. Did around 3,000 words today. Nearing the climax, but it seems a trend with my last two books that the climax lasts more than 50 pages, with 20 pages after it. And I have a lot planned for this book, after the climax. I'm not worried about how long it'll be, but my guess is around 120,000, same as it was 2 months ago in my last post. It's the first in a new series. I should be done with it in about a month, If I start to write 5 pages per day again, like I was doing with my previous four books. First book took me a year, because it was my first, and I was completely new to it. Second book took me a mere two months, third one another two months, fourth around 2.5 months, and the fifth around 5 months, because it's much longer than the others. So I expect this book to be done by August 15th. And then I'll start on the next in the series while doing a rewrite on my first book to beef it up. I've already started it, got the prologue done. ![]() So here's the chart for that. Novel: The Second Sword v2.0 Genre: Fantasy Word Count: 4000 Status: Semi-Active. On hold till I finish Violet Strewn Fields. Might do a little here and there, but Violet is my main focus right now. Last edited by Jon_Sauve123; 16th July 2008 at 08:03 AM.

Re: The chronicles word counter! Novel: Aldivia Genre: Fantasy Word Count: 9,000 Status: Dormant. Writing this with a friend. Want to get into it again soon. Novel: Five Hundred Sons Genre: Fantasy Word Count: 1,282 Status: Dormant. Want to get going on this as well! Novel: Quest (terrible name for a novel I know, it's a codename more than anything) Genre: Fantasy Word Count: 16,070 Status: Dormant. All these stories have been dormant for months, left while I worked on my short stories for my writing course. But I want to work on them all again so I'm posting on here to inspire myself. Name: World (another crappy codename) Genre: Fantasy Word Count: 6,288 Status: Dormant, but the least dormant of them all.

Re: The chronicles word counter! Been working on the first novel of my current series to improve it for agents and publishers to look at. Rewritten the prologue and added more to it so that it is now just over the 100,000 mark. Second book is now at about 60,000. I have written a chapter and done many notes for the third book. Got some notes on the sequel to the trilogy. Written a short story about a cop, (completely different genre but i thought i may as well have a go). It is 1,450 words. Been busy mostly what with birthday and mum's wedding. Hoping to get more done soon.

Re: The chronicles word counter! So, been busy waiting for responses from publishers and agents, takes forever, simply forever. While waiting, I have finished the second book in first draft and am currently writing the second draft in the knowledge I will be adding a lot much into it. I reckon it may be a lot longer than the first, but not too much to be too long. Perhaps 130,000. Started the third book and written a prologue and first three chapters thus far. Seems to be getting a WW2 theme in some ways but it is keeping in with the main storyline, and there will be quite a few twists and a lot of surprises in this one. It is going to be both emotional and gritty. The cop story at 1,450 words is now part of a series of short stories that I hope to have as a mini-project. It will be quite fun and dark, not your typical cop story, more of a thriller with about a hundred questions in just the first short story lol. So busy, and I also have another fantasy series in the works (completely unrelated to the first), and it is done in first draft, second draft about 35,000 words.
