short story markets

I've written a fantasy short story, but haven't sent it off as I know very little about magazines and other markets for fantasy short stories, though I've come across Interzone, which doesn't really seem suitable for my style of story. Does anyone else have more of an idea of what's out there? My stories are very people-driven.

Re: short story markets

Have a look at these two listing sites to begin with.

http://ralan.com/

If you find any publishers/mags/z-ines that catch your eye, research them, maybe even buy a copy/look at the z-ine to see the type of story they are looking for.

Sorry, there is no easy route, it's a matter of looking and researching your market.

Re: short story markets

dutrobe is also very useful as it lets you search for specific submission requirements, genres, word length and so on

If you are serious about short story, essay, or article publication you should really try to join Writer's Market - Where & How To Sell What You Write

Its about 3 dollars a month and you get unlimited access to a massive variety of markets.

Faery Queen means Duotrope. In addition to Duotrope and the others mentioned, I also like StoryPilot.
