I was watching another Ulath-digression forming, and I was unaccountably reminded of a game we played in high school. Mate, date, or marry? Out of the B/M/E/T characters, who would be your best mate, who would you date (for fun) and who would you take home to meet mum and dad? Here's my results: Mate: I'd like to be friends with Beldin. He's funny, rude and can party with the best of them. He's also loyal, intelligent and likes philosophical discussions. Date: durr! ULATH. I wouldn't take him home to Mum, there'd be a fight! Marry: Zakath. Emperor of the World, civilised, tortured soul, cat lover. He's perfect. (Note, I didn't ignore the friendship of the female characters for any reason other than I don't think I could be friends with them! They're all so two-d and perfect! Anyone gonna prove me wrong? I'll accept correction!) see...told you it was lame!

Re: rather lame! Oh! I never played this one before, but I like it! Mate: This one is hard. Pol or Aslade just simply for the practical skills they could teach in homemaking. (Yes, honey I promise I'll actually wash the dish not just let the dog lick it clean.) For just pure fun and carousing - Belgareth or Kalten. Date: Well, Ulath of course! Though I wouldn't turn down Tynian either. Marry: Hmmm...... while Ulath seems like a nice candidate I should think about a little more security. But then again I am already married .... well, okay, if I wasn't - Ulath. This was fun! Not lame at all, at least not in a way that's isn't fun for Eddings fans!

Re: rather lame! Mate: Kalten,to use an old joke when you look up 'best mate' in a dictionary there's picture of this blond, blue eyed guy. The perfect best mate funny, loyal, adores your wife but not in that way, and tough enough to back you up in a fight. Date:Empress Elysoun sounds like a fun evening . Marry: Melidere: Smart, independent, beautiful, sense of humour, independantly wealthy and no noble in-laws .

Re: rather lame! Hmm... Mate: Talen, or Silk, those guys would keep me so entertained, and I'd love to sneak about with them stealing stuff :P Date: Kalten, he's just lovely. Blond hair, blue eyes, what more could you ask for? Marry: Probably Sparhawk, I dunno why, he just seems like the perfect husband.
