Japanese Book Covers for Eddings

I was browsing for foreign editions of the Eddings books (I like to collect a few titles by different writers from other countries) and came across these great Japanese copies on Amazon.

Amazon.co.jp: David Eddings: 本

They're great covers I think. Kinda like the books were actually read by the person doing the artwork (eh, I have a beef with the American 'Ruby Knight' cover) for the book.

Though I love them all, I think my favorite is this one:

Amazon.co.jp: 四つの騎士団―エレニア記〈3〉: 本: デイヴィッド エディングス,David Eddings,嶋田 洋一

It's got most of the boys from Elenium and captures a good scene where Tynian is raising the dead.

I much preferred the UK Corgi covers myself.

I rather like them (although I read manga, so I'm probably biased)

Re: Japanese Book Covers for Eddings

I don't think I ever saw the UK covers ....

The link I posted to with Ruby Knight was the one that made me happy. The US cover just makes no sense. Well, I'm being a little harsh I think on that. But it shows a knight on the ground and he's wearing only chain mail with green surcoat and black hair and that doesn't fit the description of anyone in the book. And in the story it was Tynian and Bevier who were hurt and it really should have been one of them shown.

I also really enjoyed the magna twist for the covers!

I love these, I think they're beautiful, and they do look like the artists have actually read the books. I really want to get hold of these books, cause they're just so much better than the UK covers.

Re: Japanese Book Covers for Eddings

Here is English information about shipping fee of amazon.co.jp
Amazon.co.jp: ヘルプ*>*Help in English*>*Shipping*>*Shipping Rates
Roughly speaking, it costs more that 30 dollars only for shipping...

Books of Eddings had been out of print for long in Japan(I am Japanese),
but they have been reprinted last year and got a wide popularity,
especially for teens.
