Need Help On Torture Methods And Torture Devices

Think I would disagree regarding de Sade on everything but his perversion. He went a lot further than rape and sodomy, red hot pokers in sensitive areas would be nearer the start, how females 'worked' part by part with physical examples in the middle somewhere then goes down hill from there. Though some of the devices he used were actually rather older than he; If you have the opportunity, a visit to the Tower of London, Warwick Castle or perhaps the London Dungeons (never been) will prove most instructive, even after mundane devices for inflation, turning things inside out and exotic suspension contraptions, the Inquisition appeared to be particularly inventive in this regard.

But again, it does depend on what the significance of execution is:
If it is as dull as electrocution in a dark room somewhere then you can be extreme and use mutilation and pain.
If it is public spectacle, so the state can make a point, then the victim must be in pristine physical health and able to survive until the end. If you were hanged drawn and quartered in the UK, then you were expected to remain alive until the last blow of the axeman severs your head and that is after your body has been drawn through the streets, hanged, quartered and disembowled. Nothing like knowing your monarch is taking great care in ensuring you die properly?

Also, the form of torture is as individual as the person involved. It is the function of the torturer to find the most effective solution, so perhaps he can experiment a little?

Anthorn I think it makes a big difference whether you are describing this from the torturer's or the victim's viewpoint.

The marquis tortured purely for his personal sexual release. This is a common act even in our modern society. As for red hot pokers in the female area, this is still very common. In many cases, and in the Marquis case, women and men willingly submit to the torture. Therefore, it isn't really torture, just hard core nasty.

The Marquis forms of torture where rather droll. There have been entire religions that promoted the exact same form of discipline he did. And it was a form of discipline, he revelled in the fact that he was able to punish women, to utterly remove thier self will through torture.

There is a difference between the type of sexual torture the Marquis was involved in. While I respect the Marquis appetite for devilry, there is no way that he would have made a good political, religious, or prisoner torturer/executioner....simply because he was a torturer for his own selfish desire to delve into nastiness and filth. He was the epitomy of the dark side of sex, but he pretty much was an idiot who lost his fortune and generally sucked at anything but sexual torture.

There are many different forms of torture..there is torture for personal satisfaction, which is the type of selfish torture the Marquis engaged in. there is torture for information, for ownership, for persecution, and there is also torture to release or save the victim (Salem Witch trials, monk self flailing, ect)

The psychology of torture is much cooler than the ickiness of torture. I think that's why I never really liked Hostel and Hostel 2 all that much...they could have done soooooooo much better.

Torture, mmm I say the best way to torture females is to make sure at some stage in their life they have a "teenage son" Honestly I could write a whole book on how my son torture me every day. The latest "his new computer" is the worst and would fill pages on what it has taken to get it and the fact that is two days old and the DVD player stopped working. So its me who has to take it one hour back to the store, wait, drive almost 2 hours back in peek hour traffic and he is put out because he didnt have his computer. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thats torture. Still smiling though,just

Oh, I know the one you mean! Yes, that intestine torture thing isn't pleasant. Worse still, after watching the film, I dreamt that someone was doing the same thing to me. Gods, that hurt (I think I actually woke up from the pain).

Wow, I came here to post some of the more well thought out torture plans I have envisaged over the years to find everyone else has had much better ones than I.

One I have envisaged as working would be to slowly skin a person an inch or so at a time, starting at the toes and working upwards, perhaps dousing each newly opened wound with a mild corrosive to make the pain last over a longer period.

But this really pales compared to some of these. Sickos the lot of you

I've mentioned this story before, but since it is relevant, I'll do so again.

Read Piers Anthony's "On the Uses of Torture", in his Anthonology collection. The thing is, in that story, the torture isn't used for coercion of any kind. It is just what that culture does to prove worthiness. Those who endure the torture (and some of the descriptions there are pretty graphic), become heroes in the culture. And, in fact, the torture is done by those who have been tortured themselves.

For my money, this is one of the things you have to read if you are even considering writing about torture.
