Little toe on my left foot; jammed it on something in the bathroom while I was still half asleep. I can walk...it's just the little toe, after all...but its all bruised, and it hurts when I touch it wrong or move it wrong or have to walk very far or have to stand for very long. And I won't be wearing closed shoes for awhile. |

| Super Moderator | Re: Shout Your Frustrations to the World! (You know you want to.(READ FIRST POST)) Thanks, Manarion. Ouch isn't the half of it. Now, it doesn't hurt much if I don't walk on it, don't touch it...you get the idea. I'm just hoping that I can find a position to sleep in tonight that doesn't put pressure on it from the mattress or the covers. I've done this before (this is the second time this toe has been broken, and the little toe on my right foot has been broken twice as well), and I know how hard it can be to find that position. Wouldn 't matter so much, except that I need to be up and relatively coherent early in the morning to work. |

(You know you want to.(READ FIRST POST)) I've never had a broken bone-come to think of it, my bones are pretty strong-but I DO have a bum knee from an injury I received a few months ago working for FedEx Ground. *shudder* I can't walk long distances and it won't bend quite as far as it should.......I hate to think of trying another active, or even long-standing, job on it......can't afford health care........ |

| Super Moderator | Re: Shout Your Frustrations to the World! (You know you want to.(READ FIRST POST)) I hear that. Somebody today asked me if I had gone to the doctor with my toe. My answer was, yeah, right, and pay somebody to look at the thing and tell me, "Yes, it's broken". I mean, it isn't like they can really do anything about a broken little toe. My knees are pretty much useless at this point, when it comes to walking long distances or standing for a long period of time. I fell a couple of times and hit them right across the kneecap on the edge of brick steps...I was hurrying to work when I was still in school and worked on-campus, completely my own fault and clumsiness...and that apparently caused the arthirits to begin to set in. It's been years now since I've been able to do a full flight of stairs...walking down hurts more than walking up does, strangely enough. I think I need to start shooting pool again. I used to take lessons, and learned the proper stance, and practiced every day, and my knees got a lot stronger. I guess it was the repetitive exercise they got. |

(You know you want to.(READ FIRST POST)) Well, that's because your knees have lost a lot of their cushioning power due to arthritis, and going up steps, there's not quite as much distance on the spring. My knee's also lost a lot......I actually walk with a slight limp now due to it. |
