well I went to charge the battery - put it into the holder with minimal fuss and then into the wall - nothing
something is wrong - so out it comes and I take a look
the battery is in backwards..................
what follows is silent seething as I try to separate the two - as one of the springe contacts is now lodeged inside a random indent into the battery -- eventually the two separate -- though the contact is now damaged.
its charging well now -- but I think a new charger might be in order (good job its the cheap one!)

It was serious - with charger or battery charged that would mean not trip - and that is serious! (to some...)

hmm 3 or 4 weeks - depends how lost I get on the british transport system!

So, 5-6 days, then?

1 day silly -- its not that long a train trip
2 hours by train back -- should put be back around 8 + 1 hour for delays and walking back up the hill and thats 9Pm - recovery+camera fiddling -- 9:30pm ish!
there all time planned out (so now it will break and I won't be back till gone 11pm!)

Oh, that's fantastic! I thought you were going to visit your parents after you'd been to the zoo! Perhaps that's another day, then, like this weekend...

well term ends this weekend - so its back to parents for a while after that!
and it will be a while too - so normal sleeping hours (ish!
